Singer, songwriter, and guitarist Denny Brown has created a body of songs crafted from the American landscape, threading the fabric of traditional blues, folk, R&B and rock, supported by musical titans Booker T. Jones, Tower of Power, David Grissom, & other notables.
Detroit born, Denny Brown has spent his life moving from coast to coast creating songs that thread the fabric of traditional blues and folk with R&B and rock. Over the last decade, in collaboration with producer and drummer Erik Nielsen, the music has been revealed in a series of releases.
Brown’s musical influences have been wide ranging from acoustic guitar masters Rev. Gary Davis and Doc Watson and Bukka White to electric blues pioneers Albert and Freddie King. Writing influences are also broad (Dylan, Hardin and Ochs as foundational) to the writers of those great songs that occupy our heart (Otis Blackwell, Holland Dozier and Holland, Fogarty, Joni Mitchell).
“The releases have allowed us the opportunity to explore a fusion of great sounds with tremendous support from master instrumentalists. Booker T. Jones, Tower of Power, David Grissom, Flaco Jimenez and Dana Russell among others have provided beautiful support for my songs. To them, I am forever grateful for their talent.”
